Girl’s Tennis Wins CIF Championship!

Racquets swinging, tennis balls flying; Taft High’s Girl Tennis Team won the Championship game!

Playoffs consist of multiple games and require different rounds, 4 singles matches and 3 doubles matches. To move on in the competition, Taft won a total of 4 matches, either singles or doubles. Singles was where our team shined. The top four players, Maya Svidensky, Karena Balagula, Nathalie Imamoto, and Sophia Cetinyan, ranked in that order, were major factors in singles matches.

The final match, against Banning High School at Balboa Tennis Courts, was on November 15th, and our team won the City Champion title for 2018. Our girls were invited to the City Individuals. Taft Girls Tennis has a lot to be proud of this season, and we are excited for all that they have done! Congrats Girls’ Tennis! Good luck on your future seasons!
