Taft Winter Choir Concert
This past Thursday was the Taft Winter Choir Concert. This year, Vocal Ensemble, Choir, and Guitar Ensemble performed a variety of pieces that reflected the beauty of the winter season. From Autumn Leaves to lighting bright candles on the menorah, to the popular Christmas tunes we all know and love, this concert had it all. Every piece seemed like a crowd pleaser, the hall was jam-packed with families and loved ones, and with a little help from the Master of Ceremonies, Mishi Powell the audience was roaring with laughter. The most fascinating part of this entire was the night were the students from all three ensembles. Many of these students had never sung nor picked up the guitar before this semester, let alone perform for a huge audience. These students brought their A Game, and with a little help from Ms. Ramos, they went from regular students to rock stars. For more information on upcoming events from the Vocal/Guitar Department at Taft, follow the Vocal Ensemble Instagram page: @taftvocalensemble. Hope to see you at our next concert!

I really liked that everyone tried their best to be able to perform even when they don’t really know much about singing, or playing guitar, or learning something new, but overall, the concert was great and I am excited to see that I will be joining guitar and maybe choir next year for my senior year.

I was very relaxed listening to the beautiful sound of the music! The assembly was amazing!! Thank you to the choir for blessing the school with good vibes and gorgeous sounds of traditional Christmas and Hanukkah songs!

I appreciate the fact that the choir concert involved all major religions and was multil cultural in their songs. They sang christmas songs, Hanukkah songs, and more. They involved everyone in the crowd and pleased all. The teacher also must be credited as many of the students were new to choir and had no prior experience. The students did an outstanding job.
