The Upside Movie Review

The Upside is a wholesome, true story film based on the developing friendship between an American businessman, Phillip Lacasse, and parolee, Dell Scott. It depicts the bonding that occurs between the two and the adventures they have together when Dell Scott is hired as Philip Lacasse’s caretaker since Lacasse is paralyzed. The time that they spend together gives them both a sense of hope and happiness in life. It gives away the idea that they both help each other’s life out by finding one another.

This movie is based on the real lives of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo and Abdel Sellou and the events that they faced together. Although this film is based on their story, they took artistic liberties that fit better with the audience. The movie is connected to the French movie The Untouchables which was also based on the life of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo.

The Upside stunned audiences all over theatres with its heartwarming story, yet only received a shocking 40% rotten tomatoes and 86.5 million in the box office. It is unbelievable how The Upside did not receive more praise for its work. It was indeed a fantastic story that touched the hearts of many. Vanessa Tapia reviewed the movie as, “A real tearjerker, I liked it.” Grab your friends and family and view this touching movie today! You then too will believe that it deserves much more praise.
