Taft Teachers Make the News during the UTLA Strike

At the beginning of the semester, Los Angeles was rocked by the UTLA teacher’s strike. While school continued inside, many teachers, parents, and students stood outside, making their voices heard, across the valley. Taft’s own teachers, students, and parents were extremely visible during the work stoppage and were prominently highlighted in the news as they picketed along Ventura Boulevard. While not a pleasant experience for all involved, the teacher’s strike brought together the staff and students on campus and reminded us all, the impact teachers have on our campuses.

If you are looking for instances where our teachers were highlighted in the media during the strike, you can find the featured clips in major publications. From social media, newspaper, HBO to the radio, our teachers made us proud.  Down below, you can find the links to Mr. Tucker grooving out to “Miss Independent” or Ms. Murphy singing her own lyrics to “I Like it Like That”. Show some love to the hard working teachers that make our school what it is each day!
