The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the most historied franchises in NBA history, having housed some of the greatest players of all time. Such as Oscar Robinson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Glen Robinson, and Ray Allen. This year the Milwaukee Bucks are having one of the greatest seasons in NBA history. They are currently seated at 53-10 during the regular season, making them the fastest NBA team ever to obtain a playoff berth. Might this be Milwaukee’s year?

The Bucks’ success this season has been contributed heavily by  their star players Giannis Antetokumpo, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Eric Bledsoe; all of whom are averaging over 10 points per game, contributing to their number one rated offense in the league. They also average just under 120 points per game, due to the fact that they hold the top spot for pace in the NBA at 105.38 narrowly beating out the Los Angeles Lakers and the Toronto Raptors at 100.76.

Their success is embodied by their ruthless will to rebound the ball and box out game after game. They lead the league in rebounds per game with a whopping 52 rebounds. This helps them get extra possessions on the offensive end and also helps them keep their opponents off of the offensive glass. With this stat it helps them get out on the break which they are ranked 3rd in the NBA with about 19 points per game.

With all of this, we all know ‘defense wins games’, and that’s exactly what the Bucks do. They have the best defensive rating in the NBA by a large margin coming in with 101 defensive rating beating out the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors once again. The team is also among the top 3 in blocks per game this season, coming in at number 2 with 6.2 blocks per game just behind the Los Angeles Lakers who have an average of 7 blocks per game.

With all of this success, it wouldn’t be possible without the contribution of the reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokumpo. Currently ranked 2nd in the league in scoring with a smudge over 29 points per game, he is also amongst the league leaders in rebounds per game with 13.7 rebounds per game as well a lucrative passer, averaging about 6 assists a game.

To add the cherry on top of this amazing team, the Bucks also boast a dynamic duo, and that is where All-Star Khris Middleton and reigning MVP Giannis Antetokumpo  comes into play. He has emerged as one of the most versatile scorers in the league. He averages just above 21 points per game putting him among the top 25 in the league in scoring. He also averages 6 rebounds and 4 assists per game making him more than a scoring machine, and more of a star player for the franchise.

Although the season is far from over, the question still lingers, will the Bucks continue their path to having the greatest regular season of all time?
