On Wednesday, October 17, the Taft Charter High School Library hosted a prestigious Young Adult Author book panel. Sponsored by Barnes and Noble Thousand Oaks,  the panel featured authors Nicole Maggi, Robin Reul, Jeff Garvin, Bree Barton, and Romina Russell.  Speech Captain Aidan Cullen moderated this event and asked some intriguing and insightful questions. The authors, who had very real and honest answers, pleased the crowd of Taft High students and didn’t shy away from making many book-related jokes.

After the authors were done answering the moderated questions and many of the students’ questions, they signed books and memorabilia and took pictures with students so that they would forever keep their memories.

The in-house school “field trip” went off without a hitch and students left with signed books in their hands and big smiles on their faces. This was the third author visit the teacher librarian, Mrs. Coe, has brought to Taft students. We can’t wait to see which authors will make an appearance in the future!

If you want to read any of the books written by the authors who visited, their books are all available in the library to check out!
