How to Recycle Correctly
People are trying to better the environment every day. I believe recycling is a big part in improving the environment. Recycling has many benefits to it and I think recycling can help the earthś environment. Recycling has a big impact on the earth. These are 5 things everyone can start by helping the environment.
#1
NO food, liquids, straws, plastic cups and plastic dish ware in the recycling bin. Compost all food and food-soiled paper if possible.
#2
Never put your recyclables in plastic bags and never put any plastic bags in your regular recycling bin or recycling dumpster. Plastic bags and plastic wrap get jammed in recycling processing equipment.
In the united states, under 10 percent of plastics were recycled in the year of 2015. Most types of plastics are not even recycled. Most community recycling programs accept some but not all types of plastics.
#3
Unless you have a clean cardboard pizza box, please do not put cheesy, oily pizza boxes in your recycling bin. The oil, cheese, and sauce on the box can contaminate the cardboard. If you compost your food waste, then please compost the pizza box if there isn’t any plastic in or on it.
Otherwise, just put it in the trash.
#4
Recycle all clean paper and all clean and flattened cardboard boxes. Cardboard is manufactured from cellulose fibers extracted from trees. Paper fibers from corrugated boxes are also used to reduce the need to cut any trees down.
#5
Never put drinking glasses, cups or dish ware in the recycling bin. Putting dish ware and glass in the recycling bin can cause many issues for the manufacturers. Part of the reason is glass tends to break and it can easily break inside of the bins. Broken glass can injure someone, such as a worker. Some manufacturers do accept colored glasses. Colored bottles prevent sunlight from affecting the bottle contents
