James Dean Acting in Movie 3 Decades After His Death
Well known actor James Dean who died in a car crash in 1995, is now making a comeback in the film industry after six decades in the movie “Finding Jack” and fans are shocked.
With upcoming advancements in current technology and the evolution of visual effects in Hollywood, there is no way that the current movie directors and producers can actually resist bringing back icons from the past decades that we all loved and cherished. Director Anton Ernst told Hollywood reporters that in order to bring Dean back on to the big screen, they would create a full body CGI of him and use previous archival footage and pictures, while another actor would cast his voice for Dean to help them bring him back to life. Although it sounds pretty shocking, this isn’t the first time the industry brought back actors. Movies such as “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” brought back actor Peter Cushing who had died in 1994. Also in the movie “Blade Runner 2049” there was a cameo of the late actress Sean Young who died in 1982.
Dean’s upcoming casting in the new movie has made many people uneasy, even though the filmmakers have been granted approval from Dean’s family to follow through with this movie. Some big names in Hollywood such as Chris Evans took to twitter to say, “Maybe we can get a computer to paint us a new Picasso, or write a couple new John Lenon tunes.”
With people’s disapproving remarks, Mark Roesler, the chairman and chief executive of CMG, defended his decision on casting Dean saying “the company had represented the actor’s family for several years,” and that Dean still has more than 183,000 followers on Instagram showing his importance to this day. Roesler also said that “If a man can bridge the gap between life and death, if he can live after he’s dead, then maybe he was a great man.”
The movie, “Finding Jack”, is based on the book written by Gareth Crocker where the U.S. military decides to leave behind the dogs that had aided soldiers when the Vietnam War ended. James Dean seemed to be the perfect candidate to be casted for the main role of Rogan. “We searched high and low for the perfect character to portray the role of Rogan, which has some extreme complex character arcs, and after months of research, we decided on James Dean,” Ernst told the trade. Ernst never intended Dean’s casting to be a marketing gimmick, and there are still many of James Dean fans worldwide that would want to see their favorite actor one more time. “There will always be critics,” said Ernst, “All we can do is tell a great story with humanity.”
The movie is eyeing its release on Veterans Day in 2020, so there’s still time before we see for ourselves how this plays out.

Interesting article, but the actress Sean Young is very much alive. 🙂
