Rematch of the New Orleans Saints versus the Los Angeles Rams.
Sunday, September 15, 2019, was the rematch of the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams. There was a rematch between the two teams because the NFL decided that it was part of both their schedules. The Saints were hoping to get revenge on the Rams for the last championship game. L.A defended us, and they won with a score of 27-9 on Sunday. The Rams quarterback, Jared Goff, finished off with 19 of 28 and passing 283, as well as a touchdown. However, the Saints quarterback, Drew Bees was not able to play in the match since he injured his hand earlier in the game. So instead of him, Terry Bridgewater took his place. Teddy Bridgewater went 17 of 30 for 165 yards. The Saints didn’t score an offensive touchdown under the coach Sean Payton (who has a very lengthy contract with the Saints). Todd Gurley, a player for the Rams, scored his first touchdown of the season. He rushed for 63 yards.
The Saints were hampered by 11 penalties for 87 yards, while the Rams’ offense recovered from a slow start to make three straight touchdown drives in the second half. Both teams had many, many injuries. Some of the teammates on the Rams stated that Brees’s absence” didn’t change anything for us.” This probably means that they could do just fine without Bree because they are a team, not only individuals. They also stated that their plays were excellent and everyone was on the top of their game which led them to their win. Cooper Kupp finished with five catches for 120 yards, while Goff surpassed 10,000 career yards passing. A strong performance by the Rams’ defense, an impressive second half from Goff’s offense, and another officiating decision that hurt the Saints were all overshadowed by Brees’ departure late in the first quarter. This was one of the most anticipated games of this new season.
