Ellen Degeneres, who is better known for “The Ellen Show”, is to be honored with a Carol Burnett Award, also known as a Lifetime Achievement Award for TV work. The Carol Burnett Award was created in 2018 to honor excellence in television. The first time the award was presented was at the 76th Golden Globes Awards, on January 6, 2019, and was given to Carol Burnett herself for her many talents in acting, comedy, singing, and writing. Ellen is the second person to receive the award. This award is presented to an honoree that has not only done outstanding things in the world of television onscreen but off-screen as well. She’s done things that are inspiring and help families as well as friends. Here are some of the things she has done…
– She helped pay off a teacher’s debt.
– She raised 1 million dollars for the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA).
– She donated 200,000 meals to animal shelters.
– She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
– Came out of the closet in real life and in her sitcom.
Ellen inspires many people to be themselves and not care about what other people say. She spreads kindness to everyone and she gives a voice to people who don’t have one. Ellen is not just helping people all over the world, she is making people laugh. She has had many hilarious accidents on her show. Her show is also known for scaring her celebrity guests. For example, one of the most iconic episodes is the one where Sean-Diddy Combs makes an appearance. He says that he is not afraid of clowns, but when a clown jumps out of the desk, he screams and starts dancing to make it seem like he didn’t get frightened. Her Halloween episodes are pretty good too. She dresses up as different celebrities. That can make anyone laugh uncontrollably. She’s been through several trying times in her life: from her tv show getting canceled, to her many controversies. Now, “The Ellen Show” has 17 seasons! She even branched out to have a game show called “Ellen’s Game of Games”, which is now on its 2nd season. These are the kinds of things that made Ellen receive recognition and led her to get the Lifetime Achievement Award.
